Suzanne Lussier, Pierre Martel’s spouse
Karen Larocque from the Triangle d’Or in Paspébiac, Gaspésie
Pierre Daigneault from the Monchamp Bar in Montérégie
260 players already registered, registrations are still open for the duration of the first blind level.

The first blind level is 25-50
The tournament is about to start! Shuffle up and deal!
12:15pm
More people have registered, we’re now 280 players. Christopher Houle, our Golden Boy, just doubled up by slow playing his pocket Kings against a player on the flush draw. Congrats!
12:40pm
It’s going well for Frédéric Pépin and Pierre Martel whose stack got substantially bigger. However, the stack of Fred Forget, director at the Hôtel-des-Seigneurs, has somewhat melted. As for Michel McGraw, director at the Juke-Box Café, well, he’s already on the respirator.
1:00pm
More than 300 players have now registered for the tournament. Karen Lamothe from Paspébiac is doing well.
Our friend Fred Forget is given the coup de grâce when his flopped 2 pairs on a board of 9-K-Q-9-10 are not match for his opponent’s straight.
Line Lévesque from the Forum Resto-Bar, with 5 minutes to go at the first blind level, succeeds in eliminating a player, let’s hope it’s the first of many!
1:10pm
Robert Caissy from the Rive Pub in St-Georges de Beauce is graciously taken out when his pocket Jacks danced with his opponents pair of Queens... byebye Robert.
Pierre Martel lost 4000 chips to André Gagnon who’s sitting at his table. There are no friends at the table!
Blinds are now 50-100
1:45pm
Robert Audet from the Futuriste Resto-Bar in Laval, low stack, calls his opponent’s all-in with his A-J when his J hit the board but to his dismay, his opponent made a flush on the turn.
1:55pm
Daniel Lécuyer from the Billard Rawdon padded his chipstack on 2 consecutive hands with profitable flushes.
Line Lévesque strikes again! This time, Michel McGraw from the Juke-Box Café in New-Brunswick pays the price when his pocket 5’s hits Line’s trip Jacks!
Frédéric Pépin from the River Pub, with J-8 of spades and after having invested close to 6000 chips on a board of As-Ks-10s-K-J wisely folded his flush against his opponent who held A-K. He is left with only 2500 chips. Good read Frédéric!
2:40pm
Steve Rankin from Chez Tomy in Abitibi is ousted from the tournament with his AK when his opponent’s A7 paired up on the flop.
6 minutes left to the break. Here is the chip count.

We’re back with 260 players left out of the initial 308 at the beginning of the tournament. Blinds are now 75-150.
Pierre Martel who resumed his tournament from yesterday has qualified for the final table (out of 329 players). He is low stack with 45,000 chips. He leaves his 4000 chips on the table from today’s tournament; he will be blinded out while he plays his final table. Pierre has the gift of ubiquity; he’s playing 2 tournaments simultaneously! There are no two like him!
The tournament director announces the official number of participants, 310 entries.
3:00pm
Benjamin Mercier from Ste-Foy pushes all of his 4600 chips but his called by no less than 4 opponents. Unfortunately, his Queens don’t stand a chance against an A-Q with a paired A on the flop.
With blinds at 6000-12000 and 1000 ante, Pierre Martel pushes all of his 42,000 chips pre-flop with Q-10 against pocket 5’s. The pocket 5’s are good until the end and Pierre leaves with $1,978 to come back to our "main event" and his 4000 chips.
3:15pm

3:20pm
Mario Lemetti throws his A-J in the arena but it’s swiftly beat down by his opponent’s set of Jacks. Mario is ko’d out!
3:29pm
Daniel Bellefleur from the Bistro Ste-4 with his nice 15,000 chips stack is quite happy to let us know that he bluffs quite often! Careful...
Mario Buteau is quite satisfied that his pocket Jacks become a set under the now flabbergasted eyes of his opponent who held pocket Queens.
3:30pm
Blinds are now 100-200. The antes are here and start at 25.
The A-5 of Martin Tardif from the Triangle becomes entangled in a duel against his opponent’s A-Q. The board doesn’t help him and even ironically gives his opponent a Queen on the river.
3:45pm
Pierre Daignault who is accompanying the group just got taken out of the tournament quite abruptly when his A-J encountered Daniel Bellefeuille’s Aces. Daniel wasn’t bluffing this time!
Alain Rondeau from Lanaudière loses a lot when his pair of Queens bites the dust against the other player’s flush. A few hands later, Alain pushes all-in with A-K but Christopher Houle’s pocket 7’s hold up and Alain goes home.
Daniel Bellefeuille with K-10 and a Q-10- flop calls his opponent’s all-in not knowing that he held Aces. The miracle 9 comes out on the river! Daniel Bellefeuille just doubled-up.
There are now 176 players left in the tournament.
4:25
André Gagnon pushes all-in pre-flop with his pocket 10’s and his 5300 chips. Frédéric Pépin with A-Q and 1900 chips does the same. They are both followed by a third player and are horrified to see a board of 5-6-8-8-9 give him a straight with his pocket 7’s.
4:35pm
Karen Larocque from Paspébiac tries her luck and pushes all-in with her A-6 against A-K offsuit. The flop comes 6-5-10, turn 6 but a club on the river gives her opponent a flush. Noooooo!
4:55pm
The tournament indicator board is defective. We can’t see the number of players left in the tournament or their average stack. But with the collaboration of our champions, we are able to bring you the chip count.

5 :00pm
On a flop of Q-J-Q, Christopher Houle commits hara-kiri by pushing his A-Q all-in against his opponent holding J-J!
5:05pm
Daniel Bellefeuille with A-4 pushes his 18,000 chips all-in on a flop of A-4-J but is called by a J-4 which hits the full on the river. Daniel nevertheless stays calm.
5:15pm
Steve Phillips from the Resto-Bar L’Oasis in St-Sylvère sees his trip 9’s eaten up by trip K’s!
On a board of 3-3-4-9, a player moves all-in with A-Q and Sylvain Paquette from the Majuscule Whisky Bar in Trois-Rivières calls with his pocket 7’s. The Ace shows up on the river and the pocket 7’s is ousted.

5:40pm
Line Lévesque from the Forum Resto-Bar in the Outaouais loses her bet when she pushes her A-9 against a 9-10 which becomes a straight.
5:41pm

5:55pm
Tomithy Ferrigan from the Outaouais pushes his remaining 6700 chips pre-flop with his good looking Jacks. A risk-taker calls with pocket 2’s which become trips on the turn. And the adventure is over for Tim.
Only 30 minutes before the supper break. 120 players left in the tournament with an average of 15,000 chips. Blinds are currently 300-600 with 75 ante.
6:15pm
Eric Belisle from the Outaouais throws his A-Q and 12,000 chips in the fire. His opponent’s pocket K’s hold and the landing is brutal for Eric...
6:30pm
Mario Buteau’s A-J rubs against Q-Q and thankfully, gets an A and doubles up. He sends a big hug to his daughter Rosalie.
6:40pm
Suzanne Lussier, Pierre Martel’s wife, takes a chance for the flush with K-10 of spades against pocket 8’s. The snowmen hold and Suzanne is eliminated.

We’ll be back in an hour and a half...
8:00pm
We’re back and we just learned that Marie Thérrien from the Hôtel Victoria in Montérégie got out of the tournament right before the break.
8:05pm
Francis Vézina from the Bar Zodiac in the Saguenay with his A-9 goes up against A-10. The board A-Q-8-10-2 favors his already ahead opponent.
Sylvain Marceau from the Campus in Rimouski puts his fetish hand of 7-10 of diamonds to the test by risking his entire 2800 chips stack against Q-Q. The hand didn’t pass the test.
There are 105 players left and the average chip stack is 21,800. Blinds are now 400-800 with 100 ante.
8:20pm
Claude Lafrenière from the Monarque Bar-Billard bets all of his 18,000 chips with his pocket 3’s turned set on the flop but his opponent hits a flush on the river!
8:24pm
While we see a flop of A-J-8 at a table where Jean-Marc Masella with A-A is considerably chewing up Raymond Boivert’s J-J and chip stack, Daniel Lécuyer from the Billard Rawdon with K-7 is shown the door after a bold all-in on a flop of K-A-5 when his opponent held A-7.
8:40pm
Mario Buteau from La Baraka and his 7000 chips throws the dice with K-Q against A-J. His opponent wins. Hi to his little guy Sam.

11:05pm
Having pushed all-in, Jean-Marc Masella from the Brasserie des Sportifs feels an adrenalin rush when his A-Q suited hits it’s a on the flop but he’s quickly cooled off by the J which completes his opponent’s set on the river. He’s out in 42nd place.
There are 3 Quebeckers left and trying to survive and qualify for the money. They have stacks below the average of 46,000 chips. With 40 players still left in the tournament, the play has tightened considerably. The bubble is close and we can feel it.
11:30pm
Benoît Robichaud from the Complexe 222 in St-Constant pushes his entire 19,000 chips with K-Q against 10-10 and A-8. He is saved in extremis when he gets a Q on the river!
11:40pm
Maxime Tremblay from the Bar Chez Stanley triples up his 12,000 chips with his J-10 suited by hitting two pairs on the board. 36,000 chips should help him get through the bubble.

Benoît Robichaud, director at the Complexe 222 in St-Constant, has beaten the odds and is still in the tournament with 68,100 chips.
Having to leave early in the morning for home, Benoît’s performances, the last representative of our group, will be put on the site’s home page later. We wish him the best of luck!

****************************
Day 2
Unbelievable!
Benoît Robichaud is now chip leader with only 4 players left in the tournament! He is sure to win at least $21,700US! That’s more than $27,000CAD!
Benoît is closer than ever to a WSOP Circuit ring and could catch up to Pierre Bergeron Jr who already has such a ring.
We wish Benoît all the luck in the last stretch of this event.
And in the #8 event, the $200 turbo, Pierre Martel might beat his previous performance. They were 526 players starting this tournament at noon and there are only 21 left including Pierre. He 125,000 chips which is the average. With a victory, he too would win a WSOP Circuit ring. Decidedly, there is electricity in the air at the Caesar’s tonight!
7:10pm
Benoît is mastering the tournament quite well. He is so calm, but at the same time, aggressive at the table, it’s uncanny.
7:15pm
Benoît has 800,000 out of the 1,800,000 chips in play, almost half.
7:25pm
Players are now on break. Benoît won the last pot before the break with trip 5’s. He now has 900,000 chips. When we come back, the blinds will be 12,000-24,000 with 3,000 ante.
7:40pm
They’re only 3! Benoît is sure to win at least $24,800US when the 2 short stacks went all in. He is still the chip leader. Go, go, go!
7:46pm
On an A-J-10 flop, Benoît bets 80,000 chips (after having raised 50,000 pre-flop). His opponent raises to 160,000 and Benoît folds. He lost 140,000 chips on this hand.
7:50pm
Heads-up!! Sure to win at least $50,000US!! He lost the chip lead but still retains about 40% of the chips in play.
8:10pm
Benoît’s opponent uses his massive stack and plays very aggressively, not giving him any room to maneuver. Benoît has 500,000 and his opponent 1,300,000.
Meanwhile, Pierre Martel is slowly heading towards a second final table in Atlantic City, there are only 12 players left. Quebec represent!
8:12pm
Pierre Martel just got out of the turbo tournament. He got A-A and was put all-in by a big stack. He obviously called and the villain shows 4-4 but spikes a 4 on the flop. It was Pierre’s first pocket Aces in 4 days. He’s out in 12th place.
8:20pm
Benoît, with a stack of 300,000, is put all-in by his opponent and calls. Opponent K-4, Benoît K-6. There were headed for s aplit pot (2-2-7-J) but a 6 on the river gave Benoît the pot. He’s now up to 700,000 chips against 1.1 million for his opponent.
8:30pm
Benoît doubles up! On a flop of 5-7-10 of hearts, the 2 players go all-in. Benoît shows pocket 5’s and his opponent turns over 10-7. The set holds and Benoît is back in the lead.
8:40pm
Benoît is all-in with pocket 4’s against his opponent who holds 8-8. The snowmen hold up and Benoît’s opponent takes the lead once again.
9:10pm
After more than 20 hands, no champion is crowned. Benoit’s opponent got the nuts with his 8-9 on a flop of 6-7-10. Benoît called an all-in with 8-8 and saw no improvement on the turn (K) and river (A). Benoît is out in second place but nevertheless takes home $49,600US! Congratulations Benoît!
